What we are looking for

We consider clear, original ideas about trip planning, routes, place-reading, travel habits and adapting when plans change. A strong pitch has one central question, a distinct point of view and a useful reason for readers to care. Keep the scope focused enough for one piece.

Make the pitch specific

Tell us the working title, the main idea, the intended reader and what the piece would help them understand or decide. Explain why you are suited to develop the idea, and flag any relevant experience or potential conflicts. Do not present general impressions as verified facts.

Originality and care

Submissions should be original, accurate and written in clear English. We do not seek promotional copy, undisclosed advertising or claims that depend on unsafe assumptions. Any proposed advice should make its limits clear, especially where details vary by destination or change over time.
